If you have your own website, why set this blog up? At this time, September 2024, the platform my site is at does not have in its design a new blog post everytime a new blog entry is come up with. This blog will act as the foldout for my site.
The earlier rationale to, why have your own site and blog? Some may say, put everything on Facebook or Instagram. Social media sites come and go. There have been other platforms that are now obsolete. Besides, some platforms like Facebook, I understand to be a place generally for happiness and 'social' 'media', like a short video of your relative's birthday party. Not pounding the pages with bad news about destruction and burdensome politics. Folks that make a Facebook post about their kid's birthday or graduation, or grandparent's 100th birthday, might not want to have the latest news about political strife and warfare right below it, especially when sharing with other young family members.
There is a section on Facebook, Books I Read, and favorite movies, something like that, given possible revisions; I thought about using it to serve the purpose of this blog, or opening up a custom Facebook page with same title as the blog, but decided not to mainly for the reasons just discussed. Of couse if a book about some religious figure is brought up, then beside it appears a social media post on the opposing end of the decency spectrum, that could be a problem, one that I am not going to have, to the best of my ability.
In these times, there are some comments that I make that refer to some of the widespread dilemmas, in the hope that matters get better.
